The Suorin Air is a stylish vape pod designed for beginners and smokers looking for an alternative. This all-in-one device is designed by Chinese company Goldreams Technology and allegedly manufactured by Foxconn, the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer, with clients like Apple, Sony or Intel. That doesn’t really tell us much about the Suorin, but it’s what marketing efforts seems to be focusing on right now, so I thought I’d mention it.

A Look at the Contents

For a relatively unknown vaping device, the Suorin Air features surprisingly high-quality packaging  – a large white cardboard box with the “Air” logo on top and all sorts of useful information on the back. We have the device dimensions – 88 x 45 x 8 mm – starter kit contents, instructions of use, company information, a QR code and an authenticity seal.

Suorin-Air

Inside the box we have the Suorin battery and one refillable cartridge sitting snug in a plastic holder, and underneath that is a box containing a USB charging cable and a user manual. That’s about it.

To be honest, I was expecting to find at least one extra cartridge included in the kit, but no such luck. So if you’re planning on quitting smoking with the Suorin Air, I suggest also ordering some extra cartridges as well.

But probably the most surprising thing about this kit is that it doesn’t come with any e-liquid whatsoever. The included cartridge is empty and has to be filled before you can use it. I almost ruined it, because I was expecting it to be prefilled, but after holding it up to a light source, I could tell that it was perfectly dry inside. Luckily, I have plenty of juice, so this wasn’t a big deal, but for someone just getting into vaping and looking for a ready-to-vape kit, this is going to be a big let-down.

Design and Build Quality

Having transitioned to advanced vaporizers a long time ago, the Suorin Air didn’t really sound very appealing to me, but it was the unusual design that caught my attention. The first thing that comes to mind when trying to describe the Suorin Air vape pod is a credit card. It’s actually a bit smaller than that and about three times as thick, but at just 8 mm thin, it’s the second slickest device I have ever used, after the Pax JUUL.

It certainly doesn’t look like an e-cigarette, so if you’re looking for a very stealthy device, that’s a good thing. That said, putting the Suorin Air in your mouth and blowing vapor is bound to get a few raised eyebrows. It doesn’t even have a proper mouthpiece, you just put on of the top corners in your mouth and draw, just like you would on the JUUL or any other automatic e-cigarette, for that matter.

Suorin-Air-e-cigarette

There’s nothing about the Suorin Air that even hints at the fact that it is a vaporizer. You might think it’s a portable SSD, or a smartphone battery, but you’d never guess its real purpose. The metallic main body has a very minimalist design, with just a small “on/off” switch at the bottom, on one of its narrow edges, and a micro -USB charging port on the bottom. There’s also a small air slot there, but again, you’d never guess what it is if you didn’t know this was a vape pod.

On the top, the battery casing has a narrow opening where the removable cartridge snaps on. There is a large magnetic connection, as well as two small metal pins that connect to the cartridge, and three small air holes through which the air travels from that round slot at the bottom.

The cartridge has a square shape and is made of dark plastic that makes it harder to see the contents. It is made up of two compartments – a larger one that holds 2 ml of e-liquid, and a narrower one through which the vapor comes through to the mouthpiece in one of the corners of the cartridge. The atomization chamber is covered up by a paper sticker, but you can see part of the cotton wick sticking out into the tank.

Suorin-Air-cartridge

On the bottom of the cartridge we have a magnetic connection and a round fill port covered by a rubber plug. Just pull that out with your fingernail and you can use a syringe or even a small dropper to fill the cartridge. Once you’re done, just put the plug back on and you’re good to go.

Putting the Suorin Air together is as easy as placing the cartridge into the slot on the battery casing. It doesn’t snap on as you’d probably expect it too, but in a week of constant use, I’ve never had the cartridge pop out of its slot.

Unlike other closed vaping systems, the Suorin Air cartridge is refillable, meaning you don’t have to through it away and replace it with a new one, once you’ve vaped it dry. Just unplug the fill port, add more juice and you can reuse it for as long as the coil and wicking last. Granted, you will have to replace it at some point, as no coil lasts forever, but it’s way better and cheaper than single-use disposable cartridges.

Suorin-cartridge

I have been using the original Suorin cartridge for a week now and it’s still working fine. As long as you don’t let it run out of juice and burn the wick, it should be good for at least two weeks. One thing to keep in mind though, as with most other basic devices, heavy VG juices are not ideal, due to their high viscosity. But 60% VG juices and below that should wick just fine.

Battery Life and Overall Performance

The Suorin Air is a tiny device, so you can’t really expect too much from it in terms of battery life. Its official battery rating is 400 mAh, which I would say is pretty decent in relation to its size. That puts it somewhere in between the Pax JUUL (100 mAh) and the Eleaf iCare (650 mAh), which again makes sense, when you take into consideration the size difference.

Suorin-Air-charging-port

Regarding real-life use, how much vaping time you can get out of this modest battery, it all depends on your vaping habits. I consider myself a heavy vaper, and during a couple of tests, where I used the Suorin Air exclusively, I couldn’t get more than 4 – 5 hours of use out of it. Again, not bad, in my opinion, but I think a beginner, someone who just got off tobacco cigarettes will likely get a couple of hours more out of it.

I really miss the days of the early e-cigarette starter kits, when manufacturers would include two batteries in the kit to guarantee that users always had a spare when they ran out of battery. That’s not the case anymore, unfortunately, so if your battery depletes and you don’t have a power source to charge it, you just have to go without nicotine, or turn to analogs, which is the worst thing you can do, by the way.

If you spend most of your time at home or at the office, the USB charging cable can be used as a passthrough, allowing you to vape while the battery is charging, which is nice.

Suorin-Air-switch

The Suorin Air electronic cigarette has an LED indicator in one of the bottom corners, which shows you how much battery you have left. It usually lights up blue when you draw, but when the battery level becomes low, it turns red, letting you know that it’s time for a recharge. The recharge time is one of the most impressive features of the Suorin Air – just 30 minutes from empty to full battery. I suspect that has to do with the capacity of the included USB cable, which is thicker than most other cables I’ve used.

When it comes to vaping, the Suorin Air performs as well as I expected it to. It produces about the same amount of vapor as a cigarette does smoke. As a user of advanced mods, I found it unsatisfying, but then again, it’s not meant for me, but for fresh ex-smokers looking for a similar experience, minus the tar and carbon dioxide. So you could say that it does what it’s supposed to.

Suorin-Air-mouthpiece

Also, since we’re talking about a low-power vaporizer – power output is just 16 Watts – the 2 ml capacity of the cartridge ensures that you won’t have to refill it more than once a day. And when you do have to add juice, it’s as easy as unplugging the fill port on the bottom and pouring it in.

The Suorin Air is an automatic vaporizer, meaning that instead of the button-activation system used on the vast majority of modern vaping devices, it features a built-in draw-activated switch, which turns on the battery when you draw on the mouthpiece. This makes using the Suorin very similar to smoking, but it comes with a drawback. The switch on this device is not the most responsive I’ve ever used, so in order to activate the battery, you have to draw really hard. If you prefer a tighter draw – even tighter than on a real cigarette, I dare say – you’ll probably consider this a pro, but for vapers used to an airier draw, it’s an inconvenience.

Suorin-Air-shape

Conclusion

Apart from its unusual design, the Suorin Air doesn’t really bring anything new to the table. That doesn’t mean that it’s a bad device, just that it’s a novelty electronic cigarette, featuring the same technology we’ve had available for many years now. It works as intended, producing a decent amount of vapor for someone used to tobacco cigarettes, the battery life is reasonable for its reduced size, and it’s easy to carry around in the smallest of pockets.

Would I recommend the Suorin Air to someone looking to quit smoking. The answer is yes, especially if the alternative is an expensive cigalike sold by Big Tobacco. At $25,00, this slick e-cig is reasonably priced and performs reasonably well. Plus, the cartridges are refillable, so that lets you save a few bucks.

I wouldn’t suggest buying a Suorin Air. Mine broke the first week, charger holder came loose in the device, Cant charge it ever again. $30 down the drain, the company did nothing for me. No warranty or anything. Its garbage!

    • Samantha says:

Agreed. This is our third one in the household and our last was 60$ all of them have stopped working. I just got the last 4 days ago. Disappointing

My Air quit working in under 6 weeks of light use. Wrote the company, their reply: “Sorry Charley” oh- and they included a little smiley face : ) What a rude reply. When it worked I liked it. Now even thinking about this bass hole company makes me sick. Spitting on a customer is BS.

Yes, my Air quit working in under 6 weeks of light use. Company reply: “Sorry Charlie” with : ) smile face. My name is Johnny. They didn’t need to rip me off AND be rude. Hope they someday reap what they sow.

I’ve had like 6 sourin there great they never break or stop working so if urs does it’s because you did some too it so other then that it’s awsome

I like the Suorin Air because it is small and when I do get a good draw off of it, it is satisfying. Unfortunately, I can only get a decent draw off of it every 3-4 draw. I’ve watch review videos of people using them and I don’t know if I got a defective one, but it does not produce the cloud that I’m seeing. I’m using it to quit smoking, but I’m constantly drawing on it to get any satisfaction. I might try a different product.

Peter is correct. Even new coils in my tvf12 and big baby beasts need to be primed! Dry cotton equals gross nasty burnt taste also will produce low to no clouds not being primed! I am excited to get one today gets tedious trying to lug around a Voopoo drag and too! But I hope it produces some clouds lol I do like my clouds!

So far everything is good with mine. Have had it over a week now. I work in a shop dealing with tires and changing oil and such and I’m able to keep it my pants pocket with no problems. I don’t know if nic salt is recommended for it, but that’s what I use. I recommend it.

I love mine! It’s helping me not want a ciggy perfect size and stays with charge pretty well and if I do need to charge it doesn’t take long.

I’ve had my Air for a week. Still using original cart. Capes like a charm and while the draw is a little tight the switch activation has not been a problem at all.

Coming from high powered mods it’s refreshing to use something so simple and so pocket friendly. Gives enough vape to satisfy and no more rewicking, building coils, volt meters, or troubleshooting.

  • Danny Willard says:

This article is a bold face lie! It says there is no tar or carbon monoxide. In the booklet that comes with the Suorin Air it plainly states “Failure Description, Check to see if Atomizer still has Tobacco Tar” Hold it up to a light, see the little dark short thing sticking down right by the inhale hole? That Is Tar! LAD!

    • Adam1 says:

Ya cause the rest of the instructions are written in perfect English, the instructions printed in China wouldn’t screw anything up at all so it must have tar, damn some peoples kids

    • Trevor says:

You’re obviously a poorly educated and misinformed idiot. Do some research before you make yourself look so stupid again.

    • Dan says:

That’s not tar, it’s juice the juice, it’s from the leftover vapor in it after vaping it, it’s harmle it just tastes bad, all u have to do is get a napkin or tissue and clean it out once in a while

  • micr013 says:

Mine lasted 2 1/2 weeks. Now the blue LED is on all the time and nothing works. My daughter had one and it lasted less than a month before it broke. Good idea, poor implementation.

I had the blinking blue light everyone was saying mine took a crap and I didn’t use it for a week or so then I grabbed a new pod and it worked wonderfully

Ive had my device for a week now and it is very disappointing. I have been through 4 carts which all burn within 3 sessions of using them, and then progressivly burn worse with each use. After 2 days with the same pod all the taste you will get from a hit is fire. I treat the cotton very well but it doesn’t help. If you don’t mind using a new cart every time you use it than it will be great for you, other than that stay away from it.

I NEED ADVICE PLEASE!! Suorin claims you can get up to 5 refills with the air cartridges, well I can’t even get through a whole filled pod as within 2 days or less my coil is burnt. Yes I am doing everything right. I fill a new one let it set 30 whole minutes, I take baby puffs the first 6 to 10 puffs, I don’t chain vape. I use quality nic salt that does not have artificial flavors or sweeteners witch gunk your cotton and coil. At $5 to $8 a cartridge this is getting expensive going through one every 2 days, I might as well go back to smoking as it is cheaper or about the same cost. Suorin either needs to make a more quality cartridge or lower the price. I am not the only one experiencing this issue. I welcome any thought or advice PLEASE. Other than the cartridge issue this device is top notch and I enjoy it very much

You need the let the pod sit for 15-20 minutes with juice in t so it can soak up and doesnt burn. I have had mine for 2 months and it works fine with the same original pod.

      • Alexa says:
        4 stars

Check out the YouTube video on proper usage. Key is after filling cartridge you must let it sit a good 15-20 min for proper cotton absorption. So refill it before you take the last drag or draw on your current one and you’ll be good to go. If u draw before letting it absorb you will have to trash the new cartridge cause the burnt cotton taste will never go away!! Only problem I’ve had after 2 months is getting a blinking blue light after 3~4 draws and it produces NADA which is ultra frustrating but I did quit malboro smooth pack a day so gonna stick with Suorin Air for now. Love the discrete look of it

I don’t understand why all the bad feedback because I’ve been using mine since the 11th almost two weeks and I love it it hits like a cigarette it’s not too much smoke, my battery usually last a whole day and I’ve only had to change or add liquid twice since I’ve had it 2 weeks. But again I say this is my first time using e-cigs or a vape and I’m loving it

  • Gerad Badalamento says:

I have had my sourin air for 4 montgs without any problems what so ever. I i used to smoke 2 packs a day. Now none thats sourin air . Te rest of you are dummies.

Most these “Easily burnt” reviews are probably because they don’t pet the Suorin sit idle with juice for 20 min. Ya gotta wait for the cotton to get saturated. I’ve had 0 problems a far with my suorin air

  • Jake says:

I loved the Juul because the draw and nicotine intake felt like a cigarette to me. My only problem with Juul is that it can easily turn into an $8 dollar a day habit, and defeats half the purpose on why I gave up cigarettes.

This device solved that problem while still allowing me to get that “real feel”. I run Level Up Nic Salts in mine, 25 or 50 mg depending on my mood, and I love it.

  • eharvey says:

Had my Suorin air a little over a month now. Have no problems with it at all. It draws nice and I found that using 70/30 juice works just fine and is recommended in the instructions. The 30 min. charge time is right on. Love it!

The worst product ordered the kit from suorinvape.com and the battery worked for one charge after try charging it and will not work , contacted the company they told me there is nothing they can do it’s past 30 days after the order was placed so I have to order new one ! Total garbage never again will I do any orders from this company total scam don’t order from them very bad quality and the worst customer service

        2 stars

I liked these because they’re discrete. That being said, I don’t get them anymore because the batteries only last a month to six weeks. It’s not because the battery is bad – it just stops working. Charges, but no vape. I went thru 6, always having one to vape and one on the charger, and would be considered a light smoker. Nearly $200 bucks before I switched.

  • Robert Snelders says:

I just switched from suorin drop to suorin air. The Air has a larger tank and better battery life. Its just as thin as the drop.
THE BAD PART:These units all suffer from rapid manufacturing, with the main issue being the switch that triggers the coil often needs way too hard of a draw to fire the coil, if it fires at all.
LOL I kept returning the suorins to my vape store (3 times) until I found one that worked as it is supposed to.
THE GOOD: When you get a good unit they are perfectly good vapes. No missed hits, And a very light draw every time with plenty of smoke. Lets hope Suorin improves the air switch issue so they all work this well.
    Good luck!

  • Antonia says:

Do you have to use a certain juice for the air? If I use regular juice will it ruine it?

  • Jeremy says:

Honestly this is a piece of shit they are made to malfunction! If you let any juice deep into the components it’s done for. Pods burn every hit and if you have a device that lasted more than 6 months then you sucked dick for it. This thing is a POS and a complete waste of money..going to destroy mine today for all the stress it has caused me. If you see one, spit on it!

  • Kirk Nyman says:

Suorin Air is pretty nice sleek easy to carry vape mod that does a pretty darn good job of simulating the smoking experience and with the high nicotine level salt nic juices available, it doesn’t need to produce the mega clouds many vaper’s typically use as their benchmark in gauging vape mod quality. I can usually get 7 to 10 days use per cartridge at heavy use.

  • Corinne says:

I just started using Suorin Air, so far so good. My question, does the on/off switch save the battery charge? I am new to vaping. My son gifted me a Juul when he returned from vacation in California. I liked Juul for my first vape experience but replacement pods are not easily available for purchase in Canada…I ordered 8 pods online $63. After a bit of research I decided to purchase Suorin Air at a store that is near where I live. No more online orders!

  • Corinne Allen says:

I finally quit smoking after 44 years !! All I can say is Suorin Air is my life saver!

  • Kris says:

Is it suppose to have condensation and burn your lip? Trying to quit smoking and I feel like smoking would be safer. Every time I take a drag I feel like that condensation is going into my lungs and it crackles and pops. Is this normal? Lol

    • Vranks says:

crackling and popping is normal, to an extent. However if it spits hot juice in your mouth when it does that, it’s not ok. Condensation on the inside of the mouthpiece is normal as well. Smoking is not safer. Don’t take my word for it, just check all the scientific studies on this matter. If you could quit both at one point, that would be best, obviously.

For adults that want to quit smoking get this thing. Other posters are right. Two packs a day of Marlboro’s mediums (red label) for 30 years and gums and all that crap is pharma stuff that just frustrates. This works and I’ve quit smoking. Almost hard to believe and you can to. Get one and stop smoking and you can do it for real. Get nic salt 50mg and start walking! Don’t listen to kids or buy a junk thing at the liquor store, get this.

I just bought my Suorin a little over week ago. Still have tobacco at home and can’t bring myself to toss it, but I’m down to about 10 cigs a day now (yesterday only 8). We’ll see how I do once my bag of tobacco is gone.

I’m really surprised by all of these bad reviews. Maybe I’m ahead of myself but I bought mine a little over two weeks ago and this is my favorite vape by far. It’s the cheapest and the juice made specifically for it tastes the best. It hits great and lasts pretty damn long every time I fill up the pod. Not to mention the most important part, I haven’t wanted a cigarette since the moment I got it. Everyone other vape I’ve had hasn’t done that. I really recommend this!!!

“…but for fresh ex-smokers looking for a similar experience, minus the tar and carbon dioxide.”

Dude, carbon dioxide is what you exhale from your lungs after inhaling oxygen. Smokers are trying to get away from carbon monoxide, a chemical commonly emitted from burning leaves.

I was a heavy smoker of regular cigarettes and have spent hundreds over the years trying different types of vapes and they all fell short of providing the higher nicotine without burning your throat and they did not give the same feeling as smoking. I have been smoke free now for 2 months thanks to this little gem. It is a very affordable option and the fact you can get such a smooth hit from 50mg nic salts is worth it to me. Like it was mentioned in this review post if you are a OG Vape God who has been vaping for awhile this does not give you the same airy vape an it does give a lot tighter hit. I love it an suggest it for anyone who is trying to quit smoking real cigarettes and has failed at hopping on the vape train in the past. A bottle of 50mg nic salts (which lasts me 2-3 weeks) and the starter kit paid for itself in a week of not smoking. The replacement pods can be found on Amazon in packs of 5 for cheaper than anywhere else) that I have been able to find anyways. It is a lot cheaper than smoking cigs an it smells better (obviously). It is worth a try.

I love it. I have been using the Salt juices only and have been using the initial pod for over a month now and refilling roughly once a day. Previously smoked 1-1 1/2 packs a day to give idea of how much I use it. I think many that are having trouble are using regular juices which work but the salt help for the lower temps

Worst vape I’ve ever owned. If you hit it for more than 3 seconds, your pod is burnt. Battery life sucks too and often times has firing malfunctions. You’re better off throwing 20 bucks in the garbage rather than buying the Suorin silk air.

Greetings! I too began with the air, ad it’s still my fav go to device, aad I now he 10 various ones! When my 2nd air began to act up, i went to youtube and searched for ‘how to fix a sourin air’ and I found a very common problem that may help you all. Take out the pod, and pop out the battery from the shell by using a screwdriver and gently push down from the top, holding the sides, and it’ll snap out ad you can now see what’s going on inside. Te rubber grommet will likely pull off as the base slides out. Check out ALL the juice that’s leaked out and ended up in the battery. Wipe it all down with a soft cloth or napkin, using a qtip in the crevices. After you ‘mop up’ the mess, and clean the grommet well, put it all back, and hopefully it’ll fire up better! Doesn’t work all the time, but if the firing is hit or miss, then juice leakage is likely the culprit! I compared my 2 airs side by side, one good, the other dead. I was able to see where one of 3 wires connecting to the fire button broke loose!I’m asking on forums if anyone knows a trick to get the plastic wire casing off something so small? This is a result of very quick manufacturing and zero quality control! I’m resolved to fix this rather than spend more $$ on literally throw away devices, and hopefully reduce a smidge of landfill garbage. Hope this helps!

I intended to buy a suorin a little bit before Christmas. They sent me the wrong order (a pod) and I have sent numerous messages to their support saying i didn’t receive the correct device. They keep apologizing and saying that their support team has gone through some changes… and then they ghosted me for almost a month until I sent another message. That being said, it is now 3 months no response, no correct item shipped, no money refunded. I am disgusted with their support, and although I don’t even have the product to review it, this alone leads me to give one star. I don’t want to buy anything from a company that makes me feel this disempowered when it was their fault to begin with. I would never purchase anything from these guys again.

I’ve had mine for about 5-6 months now…not the first problem except it’s small and I misplaced it. Battery life is great. I can take to work in my jeans pocket and slip off to hit a time or two when I don’t want a real cigarette. I would definitely recommend a friend to get one. I would like to know though..where I can get better tasting juices online. I’m looking for a strawberry champagne. My friend had it.. delicious.. so ..for the money you spend..this is a great little vap. I’m highly pleased!

The only coils that work are the ones that you get with the device when you buy it. The coils you buy after are all trash and get burnt after one day of light use. I should just be able to smoke, not constantly wait for it to soak up again or buy new coils everyday. Would not recommend this company to anyone.
