Wotofo nexMESH Pro Tank Review

Wotofo has always been at the forefront of innovation in the sector of vaping atomizers, and their new nexMESH Pro Tank is just more of the same, an excellent sub-ohm atomizer that’s innovative in more ways than one. Let’s check it out:

Wotofo nexMESH Pro Packaging and Presentation

The nexMESH Pro Tank comes in a square cardboard box with really ‘in your face’ branding on the front, and a list of contents, the usual age restriction and nicotine warnings, as well as manufacturer contact information on the back. Interestingly, on the sides of the box, you can see pictograms of the four different coil-head types currently available for this tank.

Inside the packaging we have the nexMESH Pro sub-ohm tank and the accompanying bubble glass section sitting in a green-colored Styrofoam holder, which makes sense, considering that green is Wotofo’s traditional color. Inside the bubble glass we have a #H12 coil-head (another coil-head comes pre-installed in the tank), and underneath that green holder we also have a user manual and a bag of spare o-rings.

Wotofo nexMESH Pro Design and Build Quality

The new nexMESH Pro tank is 43mm tall (excluding the 810 drip tip and the connection pin at the bottom) and 24mm in diameter (with the straight glass attached). It is primarily made of stainless steel and glass, and is available in five different colors: black, gunmetal, stainless steel, gold and rainbow.

Design-wise, the nexMESH Pro didn’t really stand out to me as anything special, at least at first sight. The inner chimney and coil-head cover seemed unusually beefy, and it had three smaller airflow slots at the bottom, instead of the usual two large ones, but other than that, it just seemed a run of the mill tank. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad-looking tank, I just didn’t notice anything special.

Starting at the top, we have an 810 Delrin drip tip that connects to one of those sliding top caps that you push out with your thumb. Doing so reveals a rather large fill port sealed with one of those sliced silicone membranes that allows juice bottle tips or droppers to go in, but prevents the juice from leaking out. The sliding mechanism has just the right tension, requiring just enough pressure to activate as not to have it sliding open accidentally.

As I mentioned, the chimney and bell-like cover of the nexMESH Pro look rather bulky, but that makes sense what you see how large some of the compatible coil-heads can get. The coil-heads are inserted and removed through the bottom of the tank, by removing the base and pulling them out. The base itself is fairly straightforward as well, with the only noteworthy aspect being the three adjustable airflow slots.

The Wotofo nexMESH Pro comes with a #H12 clapton mesh coil-head, and a massive #H15 coil-head, which the Chinese manufacturer claims is the world’s first dual core coil-head. It’s basically a dual-coil setup, only one is a round wire coil, and the other a conical mesh coil. Wotofo claims that this way you get the best of both world’s, a hotter, denser vape, and plenty of flavor.

But there is more to the nexMESH Pro Tank than these two coil-heads, you can also get the #H11, a single conical mexh coil-head, and the #H13, a single net-like mesh coil, both of which have to be purchased separately. But if you really want to get the full Wotofo nexMESH Pro experience, you have to try the Rebuildable Deck Coil.

Wotofo nexMESH Pro Rebuildable Deck

This accessory is a separate purchase, which is kind of a bummer, because it’s one of the most important features of the nexMESH Pro. Without it, it’s just a sub-ohm tank with decent coil-heads the likes of which there are plenty to choose from, but as a complete package, the Wotofo nexMESH Pro would have been the THE tank to buy in 2020, in my opinion.

The Wotofo nexMESH Pro rebuildable deck is not just a coil-like RBA, but a full-blown single-coil deck complete with the whole bottom of the tank, including airflow control and 510 connection pin. It connects to the top part of the tank, essentially turning it into an RTA, and a really good one at  that.

The nexMESH Pro features a really simple two-post design, with decently-sized post holes that allow you to fit some exotic coils as well as simple round wire ones. The kit comes with a framed staple clapton coil, which I used to test the Wotofo nexMESH Pro in RTA form. Building on the rebuildable deck is super easy, and all you have to worry about is making sure that you don’t cram too much cotton into the wicking ports. I suggest thinning the cotton by ‘combing it’ with some tweezers and removing some of the fluff, but make sure there is enough left to stop the juice from freely flowing into the atomization chamber.

The rebuildable deck features bottom airflow, with a honeycomb-like airflow slot design caught into the bottom of the deck. Air comes in through the three slots on the outside of the tank, and then travel upwards through that honeycomb to hit the coil from the bottom. Just make sure to align the coil properly over the air slots for the best flavor.

Building and wicking on the rebuildable deck is a breeze, and if you’ve ever done a build before, you should have no issues whatsoever. If you’re a casual vaper interested in the convenience of pre-made coil-heads, then this might not be for you, but if you’re willing to get your hands dirty, you have to get this rebuildable build deck, it’s awesome!

How Does the Wotofo nexMESH Pro Vape?

That’s the million dollar question, isn’t it? Well, I can tell you that Wotofo’s latest atomizer is one of its best ones yet, but only if you take the rebuildable deck into consideration. Sadly, you’ll have to spend extra to get it, but I think it’s worth it in the long-run, as you’ll be saving a lot of money on coil-heads.

Out of all the coil-heads available – Wotofo were kind enough to send me the #H11 and #H13 ones – I liked the #H12 clapton mesh one the most. I felt it offered the best flavor out of all of them, as well as a nice hot vape and plenty of vapor. That could be said for all of them, to be fair, but I just felt that the clapton mesh was just a bit better than the other nexMESH variants in terms of flavor.

The #H15 round wire and mesh coil combination is definitely the most interesting of all the nexMESH coil-heads unveiled so far, but in terms of actual performance, I personally didn’t feel it like it topped the other in any way. It feels like a clever gimmick, but that’s just my subjective opinion, so feel free to contradict me.

The Wotofo nexMESH Pro Tank has an e-liquid capacity of 4.5ml with the straight glass, and 6ml with the bubble glass, which is decent for this type of tank, but these coil-heads are very thirsty, so I definitely recommend that you top off the juice as often as you can. Although I’ve never experienced any dry hits with any of the coil-heads, I have seen reports of the coil-heads not wicking properly when the juice level inside the tank drops below the half mark.

While the nexMESH coil-heads are great, I personally enjoyed using the rebuildable deck the most out of all the available options. Even with the coil-heads provided in the kit, it performed beautifully, both in terms of flavor and vapor production. Honestly, being able to switch to RTA mode on the fly is one of the coolest things about the Wotofo nexMESH Pro, so it really sucks that you have to pay extra for the rebuildable deck.

Conclusion

As far as I am concerned, the nexMESH Pro should be another home run for Wotofo. The nexMESH coil-heads perform really well, especially if you’re a fan of mesh, and the clean, simple design of the tank itself makes it really user friendly. But in my opinion it’s the RTA functionality that really puts the nexMESH Pro over other sub-ohm tanks in its category. Sadly, it’s a separate purchase, but that’s the only noteworthy negative I have on this atomizer.

The Wotofo nexMESH Pro was sent me directly by Wotofo, for the purpose of this review.

Pros
  • simple to use
  • innovative coil-heads
  • RTA mode
Cons
  • rebuildable deck not included
