Vaporesso Target 75 VTC Kit Review

Sick of classic box mods and tube mods? Looking for a vaping device with a refreshing design, above-average power output and temperature control technology? Then the new Vaporesso Target 75 VTC may just be the mod you’ve been waiting for. Featuring a completely unique looking mod inspired by vintage gaming joysticks, a new ceramic coil sub-ohm tank that Vaporesso calls “a real game changer”, the Target 75 VTC kit was a breath of fresh air and a pleasure to review.

I for one had never heard of Vaporesso before, so I did a bit of a background check of the brand. It turns out they are an offshoot of Smoore Technology, a large Shenzen-based ODM/OEM company with a workforce of over 3,000 people that has been working with big names in the tobacco and e-cigarette industries since 2006. Through the Vaporesso brand, Smoore aims to use its extensive experience in vaping goods manufacturing to target the Western advanced vaping equipment market. Let’s take a look at one of their first offerings, the Target 75 VTC starter kit:

A Look at the Contents

The Vaporesso Target 75 VTC kit consists of a Target 75 VTC mod, a Target cCELL sub-ohm tank with a pre-installed ceramic kanthal coil head, a Ni200 ceramic coil head for temperature control vaping, a USB charging cable for the mod and a user manual. It’s a nice package, but like with most mods on the market these days, you’ll need to buy or make your own e-liquid, as well as batteries to be ready to vape.

Vaporesso Target 75 VTC mod

While it may not affect its performance, the design is one of the main selling points of the Target 75 VTC. Love it or hate it, you have to admit that this mod looks unlike any vaping device on the market today. If not for the classic 510 connection at the top, I could swear it was the upper part of one of those early 90’s joysticks that I used to play flight simulators with on my PC. It even has a plastic fire button styled like a joystick trigger. As an avid gamer, I have to say I love the design of the Target, and just looking at it and holding it in my hand really took me on a walk down memory lane. At the same time, I realize that it’s very different than what most mods look like, and that it may not appeal to everybody.

Vaporesso-Target-VTC-mod

The plastic buttons, for example may seem cheap to some, but they really do fit in the overall gaming feel of the device, and they are actually quite sturdy and responsive. The body of the Target 75 VTC, on the other hand looks and feels to be of high quality. Made of zinc alloy and stainless steel, it has a ceramic coating that feels very smooth and yet ensures a nice grip, in part thanks to the ergonomic design of the unit.

The battery compartment of the Vaporesso Target 75 VTC is so well camouflaged that when I first saw the micro-USB port at the bottom of the device, I thought it had a built-in rechargeable battery, so I plugged it into my computer for charging. The display turned on and it showed a fully charged battery icon. Only when I unplugged it, the screen turned off and pressing the fire button three or five times didn’t do anything. Confused, I decided to take a look at the user manual, and discovered that the back of the mod, which is covered with a leather-textured plastic was the battery cover and that you need to insert an 18650 battery to power it.

Vaporesso-Target-VTC-display

After reading the manual, I noticed the battery cover does feature a couple of red arrows showing you which way to pull in order to detach it, but I had thought them only aesthetic elements and wouldn’t have figured out the “puzzle” myself. You need to grab the plastic-covered part of the mod and yank it off to access the battery compartment. Be sure to put some muscle into it, as this magnetic battery cover doesn’t come off as easily as on mods like the Koopor Mini or SMOK X Cube 2. On the bright side, it also doesn’t wobble at all.

I prefer to use an external charger to recharge my batteries, but you can also use the USB cable included in the kit to recharge the battery without taking it out of the mod. As I understand, the micro-USB port can also be used to update the firmware of the device in the future.

Vaporesso-Target-VTC-mod-connection

The top side of the Target 75 VTC houses a stainless steel 510 connection with a spring loaded pin, while the bottom of the device features battery venting holes. On the side of the device, you have the trigger-like fire button, an OLED display and two ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons to adjust the wattage and temperature in TC mode.

Using the Target 75 VTC is a fairly straightforward affair. Pressing the fire button five times in rapid succession powers on the device. Repeating the process tuns it back off. You can rotate the display by pressing the fire button three times rapidly, and lock it for safe storing by keeping the fire button and ‘+’ pressed for three seconds. Once the display shows the “System Locked” message, you can safely put in your pocket or purse without having to worry about accidental activation.

Vaporesso-Target-75-VTC

Like the VPark TC100 VT/VW box mod, the Vaporesso Target 75 VTC completely does away with a setting menu, relying instead on button combinations and automatic atomizer resistance detection. For example, to switch between wattage and temperature control modes, you simply keep the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons pressed for three seconds. Whenever you change atomizers, the device asks you to confirm if it is a new coil or the same to help it better detect the resistance. It does a good job in this regard, always showing accurate readings of the coils I used.

The Target also detect the kind of coils you are using. When trying to vape in temperature control mode with a kanthal wire coil head, the “Not Ni200 coil” message shows up on screen, and it switches to wattage mode. On the other hand, when trying to use an Ni200 coil in wattage mode, it allows you to do so.

Vaporesso-Target-mod

In wattage mode, the Target 75 VTC has a range of 5W – 75W, while in the temperature mode, it goes from 300°F-600°F/150°C-315°C. A small con I want to mention here is that scrolling through the wattage and temperature settings is a bit slow. Going from the lowest wattage, 5W, all the way to the full 75W, takes a full 45 seconds. Other high-power mods tend to pick up speed if you keep the button pressed long enough, but not the Target. Otherwise, the mod works great in both wattage and temperature mode, and has probably the lowest fire delay of all the mods I’ve ever used. Just press the button and it fires almost instantly.

In terms of user safety, the Target 75 VTC includes all the features we usually see in regulated mods: overheating protection, low battery protection, short circuit protection, low resistance protection and reverse battery polarity protection.

Target cCELL Tank

While the Target 75 VTC mod was a very nice surprise, the true star of the Vaporesso starter kit is the tank, or, more precisely, the revolutionary cCELL coils it comes with.

Design-wise, the Target tank doesn’t really stand out from the dozens of high-quality sub-ohm tanks on the market these days. Made of stainless steel and pyrex glass, the 22 mm, 3.5 ml, bottom-filling tank looks rather average, but in this case, it’s what is inside that counts.

Vaporesso-Target-tank

Vaporesso believes its new cCELL ceramic coil will be a “real game changer” and there are quite a number of notable voices in the community that actually agree, based on preliminary impressions. What really sets this new product apart from all the rest is that the heating element is completely wickless. Instead of cotton, it uses a special kind of porous ceramic developed by Vaporesso. The kanthal coil is cast inside the ceramic through a process known as sintering.

Vaporesso admits that there is a piece of organic cotton used in the cCELL, but it is wrapped around the outside of the ceramic cylinder, acting as an anti-leakage sealant. The cotton does not come into direct contact with the heating element, and does not influence the taste of the vapor. The heating process takes place inside the ceramic cylinder.

Vaporesso-tank

According to Vaporesso, “the ceramic coil maximizes the efficiency of e-liquid absorption and heating, it produces the same level of vapor at a lower wattage setting compared to most mainstream coils, with the extra benefits of no spitting, no dry hits, self cleaning, better flavor and a longer life-cycle”. That’s a great marketing statement, but at least some of what they say is actually true.

The cCELL ceramic coil heads produce the clearest flavor I have ever gotten as a vapor, and I’ve tried a few things. I’m a big fan of RDAs and good quality tank coil heads like those of the SMOK TFV4, but flavor-wise, the ceramic technology of the cCELL is sensibly superior. With cotton wicking, the taste of any juice begins to change after a few refills, but that just hasn’t happened to me while using the cCELL.

Vaporesso-Target-tank-mouthpiece

Even more impressive is the so-called self-cleaning of the ceramic element. It just so happens that my very first experience with the cCELL coil was a very unpleasant one. I had trusted Vaporesso’s recommendation to use the pre-installed o.9Ω coil head at 35 watts, for the best flavor and vapor production. I filled the Target Tank with some Space Jam Andromeda Juice, left it to saturate for a good 30 minutes, and took a hit. It was one of the worse dry hits I have ever gotten.

Now, if that had happened with a cotton wick coil head, it would have been ruined, but this is ceramic w’re talking about here. All I did was lower the wattage to 25 watts, let the heating element cool off for a few minutes and when I took the second hit, there was no noticeable burnt taste. I later learned that was thanks to the self-cleaning properties of the porous ceramic. Even if you crank the wattage too high, because there is no cotton coming into contact with the heating element, the burnt taste isn’t permanent.

Vaporesso-cCELL-ceramic-coil

As for why I got a dry hit at 35 watts, well, the math wasn’t really right to me from the start. I usually vape at 30 – 35 watts with 0.5Ω coils, so the 0.9Ω one didn’t really make much sense, but I thought I’d follow the manufacturer’s recommendation. It didn’t work out, but even at 22 – 25 watts, I got amazing flavor and above average vapor production.

Regarding the life-cycle of the ceramic coil head, I can see it being longer than cotton wick ones, especially when using high VG or dark e-liquids, which tend to generate high amounts of gunk, affecting the flavor of the juice. What I can say is that I have been using the same cCELL coil head for a week now and it’s still going strong.

Vaporesso-cCELL-coil-head-design

Design-wise, cCELL coil heads are almost identical to the ones for the Aspire Atlantis, and Vaporesso confirms that they are actually compatible with the Atlantis and a number of other popular sub-ohm tanks, which is definitely a plus. If you don’t need another tank, but want to check out the capabilities of this new ceramic technology, you can just buy cCELL coil heads separately.

Unfortunately, there are not a lot of resistances to choose from for the cCELL at this time. The Vaporesso Target 75 VTC comes with an 0.9Ω kanthal coil head for variable wattage mode, and an 0.2Ω Ni200 coil head for temperature control. While 0.9Ω is still technically sub-ohming, and it produces a decent amount of vapor, it’s not going to chug the vapor. But, personally, I don’t think it’s meant to. Instead, I think it’s meant o emphasize the great flavor you get from using the cCELL.

Vaporesso-cCELL-coil-head

The Ni200, on the other hand, is a real cloud machine, although on the Target 75 VTC mod you need to crank up the temperature a bit higher than on other high-wattage mods in order to really bring the best out of it. However, with the controversy surrounding nickel coils right now, I don’t know if it was really the best choice of material. The scary thing is that inexperienced vapers are using Ni200 coils in wattage mode, which can cause them to release toxic elements. They are only meant for temperature control, but some people don’t know this, so maybe it would be best if the industry would move on to other materials completely, just to be safe. We already have a couple of better options, like titanium and stainless steel, so hopefully Vaporesso will release other temperature control options in the near future.

Overall, I was really pleased with the cCELL coil heads – did I mentioned they are 24K gold-plated – the flavor was phenomenal, the self-cleaning thing was a nice surprise, they are compatible with a wide variety of tanks, and just the fact that they bring something new to the table really impressed me. I do still have some doubts about whether they area real game changer, though. For example, we don’t yet know much about this ceramic material. Vaporesso claims that it will not crumble and release dust particles larger than 12µm into the vapor, thanks to the cotton layers wrapped around the ceramic cylinder filtering them, but we’ll just have to wait and see if that is actually true.

Vaporesso-cCELL-ceramic-closeup

For now, though, the cCELL looks very promising.

In conclusion, the Vaporesso Target 75 VTC starter kit turned out to be a massive surprise for me. I had never heard of this brand before, I wasn’t really expecting much, but the whole package just blew me away. The build quality and design of the Target mod is superb, it performs as it should both in wattage and TC modes, and it’s really easy to use and set up. The Target Tank is your run of the mill sub-ohm tank, but it’s carried by the new ceramic cCELL coil heads, about which I’m sure we will be hearing a lot more of in the very near future.

Value wise, the Vaporesso Target starter kit is decently priced at $80 at Heaven Gifts. It might seem like a lot of money, and I’m not saying it’s the cheapest package on the market, but remember that you are getting a high-quality, high-power variable wattage/temperature control mod and a sub-ohm tank with potentially revolutionary ceramic coils. It’s not a bad deal, to be honest, and the price is sure to go down as the Vaporesso brand gains some traction and more shops start carrying its products.

Personally, I’m going to be keeping an eye on Vaporesso, and I suggest you do too. These guys mean business.

I have the same problem with my eLeaf 60W TC w/ MELO 2 tank. I often get a “check atomizer” message quite often. I am starting to think it might have something to do with the temp control technology. I’ve never ran into any problems like this with a non-TC mod before.

Mine did it too after I had dropped it a few times. Your atomizer isn’t making a proper connection.if you look at it afar you may notice it’s slightly crooked. Gently pull it back into place and it will work just fine.

my target came up with the check atomizer…i have 2 targets and attempted everything everyone mentioned…it is only 3 months old. i took it apart and found the positive wire to have come off. i soldered it back in place and works like a charm. i think this is a manufacturing quality issue as there is no reason for a solder joint to break inside.

You must have closed the inner window, and liquid is not getting in the core. Hold the transparent glass and turn it until you see its opening. its a circle inside the tank where the liquid stays. you can do it empty or full.

      • Tony says:

It’s doing the same thing, when I take it back to the store, they don’t know how to fix the problem.

      • joseph says:

make sure the connection is clean on the tank/mod. Sometimes ejuice/dust can get on them. Wipe with a cotton swab and you should have no “check atomizer problems”. For better battery life make sure you are using a 3000mah 18560 battery. It should last you 8 hours minimum after heavy vaping.

      • Joanne says:

This thing is just a piece of crap. I feel bad because it was a gift, but I’ve had every problem listed here. And I don’t care how easy they might be to fix. I expect the thing to work properly. Buying a new one this week and this one goes on the trash where t belongs.

This Vaporesso Target is making me crazy.. First off, it has leaked from the beginning through the air filter, just enough at first to make me wonder. Now it leaks, no question. Second, I’ve used 4 coils and there’s just NO REAL flavor?? I was waiting for this amazing flavor and nothing! I only use my favorite strawberry, so I know the flavor. My coils are doing the samething as someone else said about the top getting soaked and white part looks black after few days… Go the “check atomizer” until I put a new coil in, then worked.
Can someone pls help? I’m not sure which coil I should use? I’ve been using Ni200, although I didn’t know about starting it at 20watts.
And what is a less expensive but good back up pen?
I started with Aspire tank ($10) and 2 stupid JoyeTech 1000 batteries that stop charging. What is a good battery for that simple tank, that will keep charging?
I’m very nervous, I quit smoking and don’t want to be without a vape pen yet! Thanks!!

I noticed a lot of people talking about the “check atomizer” message after refilling the tank, I’ve had it happen to me a few times, I’ve noticed if you try to tighten it too much after refilling it unscrew the coil just enough to give it that error, just take it apart like you did for the refill, tighten the ccell back into its spot, and put it back together. I’ve had mine fur about ab month now, probably one of the better mods I’ve used

Yes, you have open up the tank, release the atomizer by removing it from its base and reattach it to the base, snugly, and then refill juice, put the tank and atomizer/pin base back together. The pin has to have a tight connection, and sometimes the process of removing the tank from the mod will cause the coil to become slightly loose. It happens to mine every 9 or 10 refills.

You are all just a bunch of naggers, ive had this thing for 6 months and not a single problem. If it leaks trough the airhole then you need to learn how to vape, your blowing in back down. Dont stop inhaling untill you release the button, you need to suck the chamber empty like a shisha then there is no leakage. If your having coil problems then learn how to pit things together or dont buy cheap coils from the internet! Ive tried 6 other vapourizers and this is the best by far!!!you just need to know what your doing, if your coil turns Black then you used it on a to high amperag, or you press itfor too long!

    • Senseone says:

Mods ok, not worth more than 40 bucks. The tank that comes with it is laughably terrible as are the “all new game changer ceramic cCoils”. They’re gold. People thinks that makes them good. They are not good. At all. Using the tank that comes with this makes it an automatic 10 buck sake of crank Craig’s list. Seriously I’ve got upwards of 30 mods, tanks, RDA/RTA etc and this is by far the worst tank ever and is clearly thrown in as a cute set. I get that.
If you’ve ever vaped before this isn’t the kit/mod for you. I would be happy to give the thing away, while kit went back in the box after an afternoon.

Got my aluminum-colored one today, and it’s really, really good. I’ve hated cotton ever since I started vaping instead of smoking cigarettes, and this ceramic idea is a godsend lol. I hate the burnt taste of cotton and I’m bad at taking care of other vaporizers. I got a bad burnt taste the first time I tried this Target one, but after I set the wattage properly, it’s nothing but smooth and amazing. Looks awesome too.

The first coil I used worked great. Good flavor and lasted about a week and a half. I had purchased a pack of coils with my kit and I found that they seem to not be wicking well. Even the ni200 coil in the kit has this same problem. There are very little or no bubbles coming out of the coils from at least 5 out of the 7 coils I had total. Very disappointing, as I loved the first coil.

Anyone know what other coils are confirmed to work in this tank? I heard Atlantis, Heracles, and possibly up to a half a dozen others will work.

I think the coils I have may be poorly manufactured or too much cotton in them. Unfortunately they aren’t sold anywhere in my city.

Let me first say that I fell in love with this mod right away. The feel is perfect! Way better than my Sigelei 150 TC, eLeaf 30 or 60 TC, or Kangertech topbox. The coils and tank are great! If anything, the tank could use a little more airflow, but the coils are second to none! Cannot say enough about how great the taste is off these ceramic coils.

Now the sad part… Just purchased this yesterday and had the same issue twice now. Last night while using it, the screen went haywire. Seemed to be displaying the battery charge and a bunch of other stuff all at the same time (while not charging at all?). It cleared up after I removed/replaced the battery. Today at work it happened again. When I picked it up off my desk (again, it was not charging, just sitting there) it felt hot. When I looked at the screen it was all messed up again. Cleared again after removing the battery. The screen being messed up is a nuisance.. but the hot part is a little scary.. I’ve emailed their support after looking at youtube and seeing more and more people having the same issue. Could be a bad batch as they all seem to be reporting the problem within the past week?

Hi I just wanted to reply on people who are having the screen scramble problem. I have had mine for a few days and mine has the same issue. The screen gets warm and then scrambles. I found that this happens when my battery gets to 20% battery life left. After I swap my batteries out to a fully charged one the screen doesn’t scramble again until it gets to this threshold. I do not know the reason for this but I hope this helps. I still dig the mod so far even with the quirks. I won’t say what has already been said by everyone else. I hope that everyone enjoys!

    • Ian says:

Guys, I think I know the issue. Happened to me 3 times now. For my unit, I noticed the screen goes haywire when the battery level goes to 20% or below 20%.

For the 3 times my unit went haywire the battery was low.

let me know if this fixes the issue for you guys. Keeping my battery close to full and changing the battery once it hits 20% has fixed it for me.

    • Toni says:
      2 stars

I have the same problems like Kevin B. and Ian. I think it depends on the battery power.
My battery was about 15%, and it overheated extremly. I removed the battery and fixed the problem for maybe 3seconds.
What is the main problem? Is it caused by the chip or a wrong battery?

    • Kerry Furumoto says:
      5 stars

I’ve been reading the reviews and mostly what I see is everyone has an issue with the battery. The person that sold me my unit also sold me a battery for it. It’s a IMR 18650 3.7V 3500mAh 20A battery. I’ve had no problems with overheating, screen glitches, etc. Maybe you should try a battery like mine and see if that fixes your problems. Another thing to remember is that when you change out the coil remember to prime it first and make sure that the ceramic is saturated before taking your first hit.
I love my unit and the flavor is great! I hope what I said helps you with your issues. Vape on!

I have had the same problems as Kevin with the screen going haywire minus the unit feeling hot. In fact, I’ve returned and replaced my Vaporesso two times. I now have my third, and the screen is not displaying information correctly. I spoke with the owners of my vape shop, and they have changed distributors since my previous returns. They also said other customers have had the same problem. I believe it’s more than a small batch of devices having this issue. We’re it not for these display problems, my ratings would be in the 4 or 5 range. I hope they can fix problem soon.

    • Avery says:

Same issue as above. I came to this review hoping it was something I was doing incorrectly. Looks like I need to return it and get a new one.

Mine has been getting super hot and having the display issues. I take the battery out and put it back in, that fixes it temporarily. Then it starts to go haywire again.

Wverything works fine BUT when I use my normal 6mg juices, there is no lung hit really. I’m going to try a 12 mg juice and see if it’s better, but even at 600 degrea F it has very little hit but undeniable flavor. The mod itself is excellent. The coils unfortunately were a disappointment, and I just hope the 12 mg provides a better pull.

I had the same battery issues as previously reported as well as a new one. When I first got this kit I was super happy with the performance. It worked great! Then I switched to an rda and back to the tank. Now I can only get the tank to work if I replace the coil. I emailed vaporesso support and have yet to hear back from them. I guess as long as I only use this mod for dropping I am good but would really like to use the tank again without having to replace the coil every time I switch.

I’m having the same issue I contacted smoore and thay sed there aware of the problem and are going to release a firmware update some time in February

  • Kyle says:

Mine reads “Check Atomizer” each time I engage it, whether in not there’s a brand new functioning atomizer on there (I’ve ensured the atomizer is fine) or not. Please help with this issue if any of you have any insight! Thanks

Ive had my mod for 2 days now, I had the battery problem today, battery reset it and everythings fine. I just cant figure out how to get the pull timer to appear as the manual says it has one and so did several reviews as it has a built in cut off at 10s but mine isn’t cutting off, I hit it as a friend hit his and he hit 10s and I was still pulling. Anyone know?

I seem to get dry hits with the tank on this. I’m going to try the lower wattage suggested in the review (I normally run at 35 on my devices). I put my Crown tank on this mod and I love it that way. Fits great in the hand, I can run it at 45W and it doesn’t take up too much space in my purse. The jury is still out on the tank, but the mod itself I like a lot. I have the silver one and have not had any screen problems.

Awesome vape, way better than my kangertech, and no leaks that’s one of my biggest complaints with other tanks, ease of use and great flavor, I’ve been running the same coil for a month and a half with no change in flavor, no dry hits, and zero issues, other than the screen goes haywire when the battery gets low. I’d give a hands down five stars if it didnt go haywire

Great device, haven’t used the coil for temperature control yet. The .9 ohm is the one I’m using. It’s working great but the voltage isn’t displaying only wattage and ohms. Any same issue out there?

I hit reply on a post so not sure if replying directly to that or making a general review, so I’ll do both lol.

Just got this today, love it so far. The style is awesome, very comfortable in the hand. Great flavor, and only one dry hit (had wattage too high, lowered wattage and been fine since).

Only complaint thus far is that the voltage only shows whilst the trigger is held and the coil is firing. I like mods that show the voltage at all times.

People who has bought extra coils
    and has a nasty taste,
Mine tip is clean the coil,
boil it for 2/3 times about 10 minutes, and the taste comes back, same as the coil , delivered with the tank.
    (after 1 or 2 tanks)

I had a problem with flavor with both the kanthal and nickel coils … until I remembered that I needed to add dw (distilled water) to my diy high vg ejuice. after purchasing a lot of commercial juices when I first started vaping, I decided I could do better, and I did! I’ve never bough another ejuice since then. I’m getting excellent flavor now with both coils.

I REALLY LOVE MY VAPORESSO TARGET 75W VTC ❣
When I hit it the flavor is so amazing and it hits soooooo smooth ESP compared to my Kangertech Kbox Mini but all the ones I’ve had ended up leaking really bad or stopped working for no reason and this one so far seems to be great and and there’s nothing I don’t like about it. So far everyone was right this is a great mod and tank and the Ccell is great❕❗️❕❗️ I’ve only used the 0.9Ω kanthal coil in it but it’s been great knock on wood.✊✊✊✊✊✊✊ Lol
I’ve never have done the temp control so that’s the only reason I can’t reply on the 0.2Ω Ni200 coil

I’VE HEARD THAT VAPORESSO IS COMING OUT WITH A Ccell THAT WON’T HAVE ANY COTTON AT ALL. HAS ANYONE ELSE HEARD THAT???????

WHY DOES SOME PEOPLE ON THEIR SITES SAY THEIR SELLING A VAPORESSO TARGET 2 75W VTC??????? They don’t make a VAPORESSO TARGET 2 75W VTC.

Thank-You if you reply to my questions and comments

love the look of this mod, but I can’t stand how much this mod causes with ohm jumping! I’ve tried multiple atomizers (kangertech sub tank, the one it came with, and the aspire nautilus) with the same results.

Also, I see the “old load, new load” message about 40+ times a day!!! It happens randomly and it’s very frustrating, especially when you’re about to take another hit.

Time to look for another mod.

Loved this mod for the first 3 months. It worked amazing smooth with my Triton tank and since it was a top fill I never really had to remove the tank. Then I purchased the Targent tank tat comes with the kit and after 1 month of constantly having to unscrew the bottom fill target tank to refill the tank I unscrewed it last night and the threaded base came off with the Tank, I re attached the part but now I keep getting check atomizer messages. Has anyone else noticed this deilemna? Is there a way to fix this connection or am I going to have to throw another 60 bucks at a poorly constructed Mod yet innovative coil

I got this mod and I am using a Herakles plus tank on it. Absolutely love. Great flavor and good size clouds. The power you get for its size is amazing. Very happy with my purchase. Using it at 40 watts and the tank heats up but other than that no complaints.

Good mod really like it. But keep getting dry hits. Change coils juicing up well but still happening. Any advise??

    I love it.

There seems to be a 1st run production problem affecting many reviewers here but mine works fine.

The sintering is a new thing and with any new tech there are issues. I love the cCELLs but I accept the limitations – takes a while to wick when refilling from empty, seems inevitable to get a few dry hits when breaking the coils in.

Solutions that work for me but understandably not everyone – stay within suggested range (20-35w for .9 kanthal), make the first 15 or 20 hits for each coil small hits (once broken in I have no problems at all), be patient….the flavor is noticeably better and it makes good clouds… it’s worth the patience for the time being.

I can’t wait to see the next generation of these things.

  • VJ101 says:

Two thumbs up for this rig here! I do however love the ceramic ccell coil, but have no care for the secondary nickle basebased one that come with the kit. I use a nautilus coil and have found the product still has no spitting or dry hits!

I tried many fancy and expensive tanks, RDA’s RTA’s but the best and most complex and most pleasant flavor and taste I’ve got from this Vaporesso ceramic coil tank. And I tried them all: RDA’s, RTA’s, coil tanks. They definitely have done their magic with these ceramic atomizers. If you are after huge clouds only and don’t care about taste and flavor look elsewhere.

LOVE this mod. I have had zero problems with it. Got it a few days ago, and been running about 2 tanks a day thru it, different flavors, on the first coil, the Kanthal .9 one.
Good flavor, pretty good clouds. Better than my Kangertech Subox so far.

Only con with it, it takes forever for a drastic juice change to get the old flavor run through it and get to the new fill. Not really a con, but since we can’t rewick it…

  • darren says:

I see a few have problems with their target … you all need to understand that you need a high drain battery with 35amps for this mod .. also the coils need to be primed and if in wattage start @ 20w if using the 0.9 coil dont go straight to 35w you’ll burn the coil . Better to start low and go up . Also there are a lot of fake targets out there some have vaporesso in lower case written on the tank . Vaporesso dont make a white target with orange buttons anymore .i would recomend you visit the vaporesso web site and see for yourself . The site also has its authorized recommended dearlers listed . Smoore is not vaporesso . Vaporesso manufacturered products for smoore .. do your research before you buy ..

I have not had any problems with my target yet I have had it for a month now and I am a heavy user. Four or five tanks a today easy. I had a kanger tech top box mini and in about three weeks it stopped working had to send it back and I’m still waiting to get it back. But I love my target and the ceramic coils are awesome I’ll never use cotton again. Hope everyone give this unit a chance. It’s great

  • Ms. B says:

I am not a very experienced vaper user (start Oct 2015). The Vaporesso Target 75 VTC Kit is my second device. My first device was the Aspire Nautilus Mini.

Despite of the positive reviews regarding the cCell coil Kanthal 0.9Ω I am not impressed.

I most of the coils I have used about 4 out of 7 have gone bad. I have notice when the e-juice gets into the top of the coil housing (where the hole is) the e-juice flavor becomes undetectable (I use very good juice). The flavor is extremely good when I put in a new coil for apx. 4 days than nothing other than a burned taste.
    I have also experienced spit-back.

In addition the tops of some coils turn black as if burned. I have had only about 2 coils work correctly for 15 days.

MAYBE I’M DOING SOMETHING WRONG? I am not impressed with the cCell coils in this device.

Only had mine a week but works very well. Mine came with only two coils, one ss.5ohm and one ss.6ohm and it has a 2.5mL top fill tank.

  • Sean says:

I wasn’t done with review ….anyway I was saying, amazing clouds and taste . Some may have not noticed but if you slightly turn the tank it either open or closes the air holes inside on the atomizer not sure why it does this but I make sure they are open. My tank is top fill with .5ohm ss atomizer.

Had mine for about two months. The first coil that came with the kit worked for 4 days. The next coil more or less the same and then some worked for about a week to 10 days. Wrote Vaporesso about it and they never answered back. Wrote the seller and he told med that the coils should at least work for a month. After two months I got a ‘System Locked’ message. Wrote the seller and they could not help. Then wrote Vaporesso. This time they answered and told me to ‘reboot’ it. After that it worked again. Today I got the message ‘Atomizer Short’. Replaced the coil and then it worked. So far the it has cost me more money than smoking cigarettes and I am really not satisfied with the product. When it works its awesome and I really like it.

Had mine for 14 months and apart from a bit of wear and tear on the black paint its still going strong.
Every now and then you get a duff coil which is a real bummer when you get that awful dry hit. I think its something to do with the poor porosity of the ceramic (some seem to allow juice to wick better than others) and/or the cotton wrap coming loose during assembly and managing somehow to touch the coil where it comes out of the botom of the ceramic.
I also agree with one of the previous comments about leaking.
Make sure the 2 washers are in the correct place on the coil when screwing them in and learn to vape correctly. (draw your vape until after you let go of the fire button) Some inexperienced vapers will not do this and it allows vapour in the chimney to cendense and back dribble down into the space at the base of the coil where the air is drawn in. This in turn can leak out and find its way down to the connectors where the tank and mod meet causing shorts and not allowing the Target to operate correctly or at all.
You should clean your tank thoroughly after every 3-4 refills just to remove gunk build up that will taint the flavour.
26-30W is usually the best sweetspot using 0.9 kanthal coils. I cannot comment on the Nickel as I have never got around to using them.
When I get a troublefree coil it usually lasts me about 3 weeks.
I also clean down inside the coil to remove gunk about once a week.
If you are after clouds buy a different set up but if you want flavour this is a must in every vapers collection of tanks.
I usually go through 2 batteries a day which I personally don’t find problematic. Just charge your batteries correctly and carry them in a protective case.
I have used my Target all day every day for the last 14 months and it is the best mod I have used in the last 3 years of vaping. I am not saying its the best out there as I know there are some amazing mods around. I am just saying that I have found the right mod for me and am so glad it has kept me off the stinkies.
I also use my dripper occasionally when relaxing watching films at home but apart from that my Target has been at my side for 14 happy months.
I suppose I was lucky and just bought a really well made one. I do feel for the people who buy one that does have faults as it can put them off this great piece of kit for good and they will never get to taste the great flavour that I get from it.
Happy vaping people and stay off the stinkies.

I lived this mod until a couple days ago. I’m getting a message “temp high”, and it renders the device useless. It’ll sometimes work for 2-3 hits if I remove the battery and put it back in, but then not at all. I’ve cleaned everything and replaced the coil and I still have the same issue. The device is not hot at all…I will let it sit for hours (not charging), and try it again with the same message. Is anyone else having this issue? I contacted the company today, so hopefully I hear back soon.
